The Amadeus Weekend at the Salzburg Music Festival

Salzburg Amadeus Weekend

The world famous Salzburg Festival was created in 1920, and is a five week celebration of opera, orchestral music and theatre that takes place every summer. The historic city of Salzburg provides the breathtaking backdrop to the 'greatest and most important festival in the world'‚ and it is the renowned birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Donald Kahn, the nephew of Walter Annenberg, has hosted the Amadeus Weekend since 2003, when HRH The Prince of Wales was the guest of honour. He is not only a renowned and generous philanthropist, but also a Senator of the University of Salzburg, where he helped to rebuild the "Grosse Aula". His latest project was participating in the reconstruction of 'the new House of Mozart'.
